One of the most well-known basketball players and coaches of all time, Dawn Staley, likes to live by the mantra “What is Delayed is Not Denied.”
It struck a chord with me because there is a great deal of conviction crammed into those six words. Failure, after all, is not falling down, it is staying down.
In addition to that, it brilliantly depicts something that I’ve noticed on numerous occasions.
Things that we care about or that involve people we know don’t always happen when we expect them to [or hope].
However, success is assured by the presence of time, knowledge, and an abundance of hunger.
What is delayed is not denied.
