The expression “We’ll make it work” communicates two different ideas: “We’re in it together” and “This is a commitment.”

This phrase, “We’ll make it work,” has the power to unite both sides of a crisis.

And if you don’t want to make a long-term commitment, simply say no.

There are a few instances in which the word “try” could be used as an excuse to avoid responsibility or as a sincere attempt to convey the degree of ambiguity surrounding factors beyond your control.

However, most of the time, it is up to us to avoid making empty promises.
