I felt this was a lovely illustration of how love, the true kind, requires effort.

While written with partners in mind, this is as true to how we interact with ourselves and to things that we become excited about.

It is simple, for example, to become thrilled about a new year resolution. But it takes a lot more than that enthusiasm to put in the effort. Every single day for 365 days.

Romance is “easy come, easy go.”

The task starts when we commit to the practice.

It is why love, of any sort, is hard. And powerful.
