I came across this earlier and thought it was worth sharing. I’m not sure who the original author is, but it reads as follows:

________________________________________

At the end of the war, Leaders shake hands, the mothers wait for their children, wives wait for their husbands, kids waiting for their fathers, I don’t know who started the war, but I know who pays the price.

_______________________________________

There are no victors in war, but there will be many lives torn apart as a result of it.

Even those who believe they have “won” will have psychological nightmares as a result of their actions.

The trauma of war lingers long after the final bullet has been fired.
