In a recent sermon, TD Jakes stated something that I thought was extremely intriguing.
I paraphrase:
_________________________________
Sometimes your enemies become safer than your friends.
Because you don’t defend yourself against your friends, you let your guard down, and it’s usually those friends that will throw a javelin at you in return.
You know you have to be cautious around your enemies because they are your enemies, and you know you can relax among your friends, but it is frequently those who are privy to your dark secrets [your friends] who may use them against you when you least expect it, so be cautious around people who know your dark secrets.
