When you change your words, you can change your body posture and the way your company or team interacts with customers and partners in a very big way.

When you’re ready to claim credit for anything, consider saying “us” instead of “I.”

Instead of using the word “we” to avoid taking responsibility, try using the word “I” instead.

In addition, if you find yourself inclined to depersonalise the consequences of your actions, try saying “you” while staring the person who has been affected directly in the eyes.

Words matter.
