“I believe we are making progress,” is one of my favourite and most often heard phrases.

“I believe” is used since we never know if a nice morning will be a good day or not.

“We are making progress” because progress is made possible when we all work together to achieve it.

“Progress” is used instead of “perfection” since the aim is progress rather than perfection. It is about becoming, not about being.
