In the 80s when were you diagnosed with HIV/Aids, it was like a death sentence.
As time went on, advances in medical innovation and technology resulted in things like taking 9 or so pills daily to boost your immune system.
More advances in technology today resulted in taking only one pill per day.
The recent new developments are that you take monthly injections instead of daily pills.
Near future projections are that you will take one injection every six months.
The world has moved from no vaccine, to 9 pills or so a day, to one pill a day, to one injection a month, to one injection every six months.
Medical technology may seem to be moving at snail pace, but things are moving.
I’m hopeful as scientists make progress, a cure will be found soon.
Condolences to those who have lost loved ones. Those affected or infected by this long lasting pandemic, hang in there, help is on the way. Continue being amazing, thriving and mattering.
You matter more than you think.
Happy World Aids Day.
