As the late former president Nelson Mandela said in his autobiography Long Walk to Freedom:

“It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.”

When you lead from behind, you give others the opportunity to express their talent and creative wits.

When there is danger to the tribe, you step up, take charge and lead from the front.
