There are two schools of thoughts I have been pondering on regarding family:
Firstly, there is an old proverb that says you can’t choose your family.
You take what fate hands you. And like them or not, love them or not, understand them or not, you cope with what you have.
Then there is the second school of thought that says the family you are born into is simply a starting point.
They feed you, clothe you, and take care of you until you are ready to go out into the world.
There you find your own tribe.
William Forrester in Finding Forrester says:
“Losing family obliges us to find our family. Not always the family that is our blood, but the family that can become our blood.
Either way: Sawubona.
