The strength of a team is proportional to the percentage of folks within the team who would put the team’s interest ahead of their own.
Whether you are team of two or a team of twelve, when self-interest trump team interest, the team will not go far.
When team interest percentage is less than 50%, it is a disaster.
Conversely, when team interest exceeds 80%, you are generally looking at greatness.
The reason it is important to put the collective team interest ahead of personal interest is that it increases the chances for the team to succeed and when the team succeeds, personal interest succeeds as a result.
We win as a team.
PS: Well done and congratulations to Siyamthanda and team for always putting team interest ahead and winning the Rugby World Cup 2019.
