When you say ‘I don’t feel like trying today’ but you try anyways, it is not that you are ignoring your feelings… you are simply bringing how you feel with you to what you are actually going to do.

You don’t feel like writing? It’s okay, bring that feeling to the writing table and just write.

You don’t feel like telling your story? It’s okay bring that feeling on stage, and tell your story anyway.

Feel your feelings, and still show up.

Show up, even when you don’t feel like it.

Be kind, even in your bad day.

I love what I do, however there are days when I don’t feel like waking up early in the morning and going to class, or going to mentorship sessions, or writing. But I do it anyway, I show up, I put in the hours, every day, because I committed to doing it, because this is what I said I want to do.

I have since learned that one of the most important keys to success is having the discipline to do what you know you should do even when you don’t feel like doing it.

You are scared? It’s okay, bring that on stage, but do it anyway.

Acknowledge the fear, invite it in, let it sit on the passenger seat, but don’t allow fear’s hands on the steering wheel. You are the driver, not it.

Sometimes we have to ignore how we feel and just do it anyway.

Fear is not the enemy, paralysis is.

PS: What I have come to realised that often, even though I didn’t feel like doing it, after pushing through the feeling, I’m always glad I did.
