There are two ways to get married:

The first way to get married is to go on tinder and swipe right, over and over again proposing marriage to very single person you swipe.

This is a stupid way to get married.

The other way to get married is to go on a date, if it goes well go on another date with that person.

On the third date, you met their parents, they meet your parents and then you get engaged.

You wait until the seventh date before you tell them you are out on parole.

This method of dating worked for many people, maybe it will work for.

It’s a smart way to get married.

So why are you not dating your potential customers?

Why do approach your customers with a hit and run, smash and grab attitude, all you are interested in the transaction more than the customer?

In his book Permission Marketing: Turning Strangers into Friends and Friends into Customers, Seth Godin explains the idea of connecting to people who want to be connected to, marketing to people who want to be marketed to.

Permission Marketing is just like dating. It turns strangers into friends and friends into lifetime customers. Many of the rules of dating apply, and so do many of the benefits.

In virtually every industry the most trusted brand is also the most profitable.

Advertising and frequency leads to awareness, awareness to familiarity, and familiarity to trust. And trust, almost without exception, leads to profit.

Date your prospects, spend time knowing them, date them and through time, you will get to understand what they fears and aspirations are, and this will inform you if this is the type of customer to want to get married to.
