You are an entrepreneur

– You are willing to be misunderstood for long periods of time
– You are excited when Monday morning arrives
– The thought of having to work a 9-to-5 is worse than death
– Holidays are a complete waste of your day
– You pay for your own medical aid (without assistance)
– You constantly invest in yourself
– You are a problem solver
– A cheque in hand means nothing (its not a deal until the money is in the bank)
– You plan your vacations around the business cycle
– You make money while on vacation
– You cut people off who are not a positive influence in your life
– You invest in other entrepreneurs
– The company car is your car
– Your CV is really outdated
– You never let the competition define you. Instead you have to define yourself based on a point of view you care deeply about
– Its not about money more than it is about independence
– You understand that you are in sales, whether you want to be or not
– You are not the only employee of your business
– Office space is not a priority but a good team is
– You are not stopped by fear
– There is never enough time
– Its not about thinking outside the box, instead its about owning the box
– You know that not every customer is worth having
– You see opportunities that others do not
– You know that your education does not stop when you are done with school
– Your business does not depend on you to run
– Sometimes you feel really lonely
– When someone asks what you do, its not an easy answer
– You work on your business, not in your business
– You are so focused that sometimes you forget to eat
– You do not accept mediocrity
– You know that a business that is not growing is dying
– Your first business is not your last business
– You don’t believe in retirement

  1. Thanks a lot bra Roche, this is the most important topic that most of us are puzzled in how to go about it

  2. Great article, you can tell that you wrote from experience and not from what you read somewhere else. Your article is on point.
